About

The About Page is the second most read page on a website!

A smart About Page is an important part of keeping the attention of your audience. It’s one of the first things visitors look at when they find your website, and it can lead them to become regular readers.

Tell a story that demonstrates they can learn and why it’s important to them. To grab and hold their attention, it should be brief, interesting, endearing, and not overly hyped or jargon-filled.

Describe the services or products you offer. Clearly stating your mission here is a good idea, especially if you can inject personality.

Remember: make it about the benefits to your reader, not about you.

Tell why your content is so valuable to readers

State why your audience will benefit from signing up or subscribing for the call to action you offer below.

What do you offer your audience that others don’t? Is there some resistance your prospects might feel to opt-in to your email list, updates, or free ebooks? This is a great place to put a short bulleted list answering any objections:

  • Talk about the problems you like to help solve.
  • List benefits your audience is most interested in.
  • Tell why signing up is the answer to the question readers came here searching for in the first place.

Make a call to action! This is where your “next step” button can go. It should include the most compelling reason to opt-in and a simple email sign-up.

Call to Action Button

Note: You can, of course, add more info about your history and qualifications below the call to action if needed. And a picture of you is a great way to personalize this page.
