Chapters 14, “Spared by the Spirit from Unknown Tongues”
Chapter 28,“The Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Speaking in Tongues”
Chapters 14 and 28 both deal with the side issue of speaking in unknown tongues. They are included to show from the scriptures and experience that speaking in unknown tongues is not a sign of genuine baptism of the Holy Spirit. To avoid getting sidetracked into prolonged discussion it is recommended that small groups and/or classes read through chapters 14 and 28 for reference but go on to chapters 15 and 16 to continue discussion for practical application to soul winning.
The tangible evidence that genders joy is not in phenomenon but in scripture which cannot be broken. The enemy can counterfeit feeling and all manner of miracles, but a clear understanding of Scripture alone is to be trusted.

Scripture: Review the scriptures quoted in Chapter 35, p. 117-120
Note: Most of the chapters studied so far have made reference to the baptism of the Holy Spirit. For some time the reader may have wondered what the baptism of the Holy Spirit is. The chapters listed above are designed to give a Biblical understanding of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
There have been partial answers to this question in several chapters in this book. Chapter 14 includes the account of Pastor Dalton and Mrs. Schmidt which describes the way he arrived at a doctrine of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Chapters 23, 24, 27 and 35 set forth a clear teaching on the subject. Chapter 25 quotes a large portion of the chapter in the Book Acts of the Apostles by E.G. White. Her eye witness account corresponds to what I have found from the teachings of the Bible and from experience.
